Job Title: Operator II (Compression Operator)
The Operator II ( Compression Operator / Tablet Press Operator ) is responsible for the execution of scheduled production orders and producing tablets in the manufacturing department. Must be able to follow company standard operating procedures (SOPs) and cGMP regulations to ensure products meet applicable quality standards. The operator is accountable for overall safety, quality, and equipment efficiency.
- Produces tablets following SOPs.
- Disassembles, cleans, reassembles, sets up, and operates all required equipment for operation, and makes light mechanical adjustments on tablet presses necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the equipment for the required quality and quantity.
- Perform routine quality testing of the product.
- Operator must be capable of operating multiple tablet presses at one time.
- Work safely with chemicals with varying hazard ratings.
- Troubleshoots and maintains tablet presses, complete basic maintenance or, if necessary, requests maintenance department support.
- Performing inventory transactions in the MRP system to ensure chemicals are allocated properly and inventory is accurate
- Daily start-up and shutdown of the manufacturing area
- Providing training for new employees
- Performs all other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor

- The individual will be compressing chemicals with a range of hazard ratings, including irritants, corrosives, and oxidizers, so the ability to follow safety procedures and wear the proper personal protective equipment is extremely important.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong listening and interpersonal communication skills.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to operate a forklift; forklift certification is a plus.
- Full English proficiency is required. Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
Education:
- High School diploma is a plus.
Experience:
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing setting is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Extended periods of standing.
- Frequently lifts and moves items weighing up to 60 pounds.
