Job Description:
The IT Asset Management Administrator is responsible for implementing and managing the tool and process of managing, tracking, and optimizing the company's IT assets throughout their lifecycle. This role ensures that internal stakeholders utilize the asset management tool to effectively account for, maintain, and utilize assets within budgetary guidelines and compliance requirements. The IT Asset Management Administrator works closely with procurement, IT, and other internal stakeholders, to ensure accurate asset tracking, inventory management, and compliance with licensing agreements. This role will be responsible for the creation and distribution of reports to aid in decision-making.
Responsibilities:
Coordinates all aspects of the ITAM lifecycle to support customers through the Service-Now Platform. Defines and documents compliance standards and processes and ensures adherence across the business. Performs regular audits to verify the accuracy of the asset database and provides recommendations to mitigate risk to the company. Actively manages hardware and software assets in the centralized database, including monitoring licenses and ensuring compliance according to RaceTrac standards. Creates the process to track assets throughout their lifecycle and defines the lifecycle of assets. Stays abreast asset management best practices and industry standards. Makes recommendations and influences internal asset management procedures. Loads and processes data using the ITAM department's standard tools and systems; Creates asset reporting to aid in procurement decisions. Analyzes customer purchase records and entitlement reports to create entitlement positions. Optimizes IT asset spend and lifecycles by managing costs and providing recommendations in procurement decisions. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in IT, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred). 4-7 years of experience in IT asset management, procurement, or a similar role. Experience with IT asset management software (e.g., ServiceNow, Salesforce, or similar platforms). Proficiency in asset management tools and systems required. Strong understanding of software licensing, hardware lifecycle management, and vendor relations. Knowledge of procurement processes and financial principles related to asset depreciation and ROI. Experience working with cloud assets and virtual environments is a plus. Familiarity with ITIL or other service management frameworks required. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. Effective communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. ServiceNow certifications, such as Certified Systems Administrator (CSA), IT Asset Management (ITAM), and Software Asset Management (SAM) Implementer, are preferred.
