Job Title: Senior Estimator - Heavy Highway Construction

Position Overview:We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator specializing in heavy highway construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in accurately estimating the costs of large-scale infrastructure projects, with a particular emphasis on heavy highway construction. Proficiency in utilizing HCSS HeavyBid software is essential for this role. The Senior Estimator will play a crucial role in our pre-construction process, providing accurate and competitive bids to secure projects while ensuring profitability and adherence to project timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Estimating: Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for heavy highway construction projects, including earthwork, paving, bridges, drainage, and related infrastructure components.
  2. HCSS HeavyBid Utilization: Expertise in utilizing HCSS HeavyBid software to develop comprehensive bid proposals and analyze cost data effectively.
  3. Bid Preparation: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather necessary information and develop competitive bid packages.
  4. Cost Analysis: Conduct thorough cost analysis and value engineering assessments to identify cost-saving opportunities and enhance project efficiency without compromising quality.
  5. Risk Assessment: Identify and evaluate potential risks associated with project estimates, providing recommendations to mitigate risks and ensure project success.
  6. Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, material costs, and labor rates to maintain competitiveness in the market and optimize bid strategies.
  7. Bid Presentation: Present estimates and proposals to clients, stakeholders, and internal management, articulating cost breakdowns, project scope, and value-added services.
  8. Documentation: Maintain accurate and organized documentation of all estimates, bid proposals, and related correspondence in accordance with company standards and industry regulations.
  9. Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in post-bid reviews and lessons learned sessions to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices for future estimating efforts.
  10. Team Collaboration: Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment by sharing knowledge, providing mentorship to junior estimators, and actively contributing to team objectives.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Senior Estimator in heavy highway construction, with a minimum of [5] years in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in HCSS HeavyBid software and other relevant estimating tools.
