Overview
The Senior Systems Architect is a senior level position in Enterprise Systems within IT Operations. The Senior Systems Architect is responsible for the design, maintenance and monitoring for all enterprise IT systems at the firm including, cloud, hybrid, and on-premesis systems. The Senior Systems Architect works closely with vendors, other members of the IT Operations team and staff in other departments, within the firm, to help plan, design and implement new technologies, products and upgrades. The individual filling this position must be able to work well without constant supervision while handling multiple sets of priorities and will need to be a fluent in the firm's technology best practices. The Senior Systems Architect is a technical leader within the department and works as part of a small team of architects.
Responsibilities
Establish and maintain productive relationships with firm departments that use the various enterprise systems supported by the group. Work closely with vendors and other members of the enterprise systems group to plan, design and implement new systems and upgrades to existing systems. Research new and current technologies to make sure all systems are configured according to technology, information governance and information security best practices. Understand the implications of using technologies such as VMWare, clustering, load-balancing and DMZ. Work effectively with IT staff responsible for these technologies to ensure proper design and operation of enterprise systems. Assist and mentor other members of the enterprise systems group with all aspects of system maintenance. Perform in-depth, persistent troubleshooting of complex problem and performance analysis of all enterprise systems managed by the group. Assist and mentor other members of the group with troubleshooting and performance analysis as needed. Substantially participate in DR planning. Understand the DR implications of system configuration. Work with group manager and other group members to help plan the department's annual operating budget. Transfer knowledge about system operations to end-users. Ensure appropriate system documentation is created and readily available. Help to identify essential skills and training needs. Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with a minimum 8 years of related experience Certifications, such as Microsoft, Linux, or vendor-specific, are a plus Extensive knowledge of Windows Server technologies Extensive experience with systems design and integration methods including hands-on experience using APIs Extensive knowledge of IIS and Apache Extensive experience with and understanding of clustering and load balancing Working knowledge of SQL Server and Transact-SQL Working knowledge of VMWare Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies and issue resolution techniques Excellent listening skills and written and oral communication skills, including effective presentation skills Compensation and Total Rewards Package

The anticipated pay range for this role is listed below and represents our good faith and reasonable estimate of the starting salary range at the time of posting. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors, including qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data and consideration of internal equity.
Boston, Chicago, Washington, D.C.: $133,500 - 201,000 New York: $140,000 - $211,000
