Summary of Duties

Responsible for accounting and bookkeeping procedures for facilities and home office, to include maintaining chart of accounts, recording journal entries, posting all transactions and reconciling accounts in the general ledger, performing monthly closing and reconciling bank accounts, and preparing financial statements.

Essential Job Functions

Maintains chart of accounts Prepares journal entry records Records journal entries, adjustments, and posts transactions to and reconciles general ledger Performs required monthly closings and account reconciliations Prepares monthly financial statements, variance analysis, and statistical reports Reconciles bank accounts monthly Fixed assets entry and tracking, including depreciation calculations Prepares and records payroll accruals at month-end Reviews accounts payable processing to ensure proper posting to the general ledger Reviews payroll and related entries to ensure proper posting to the general ledger Reviews expense reports for mathematical accuracy and proper general ledger account coding Assists in preparation for annual financial audit Assists in preparation of various informational filings and tax returns Assists in reimbursement analysis and preparing cost reports for third party payors Assists in preparing budgets and monitoring actual operating results as compared to the budget Maintains appropriate accounting data via spreadsheets Performs other Finance Department duties as required Education

Bachelor's degree in accounting required. CPA/CMA preferred.

Experience

Accounting experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to walk, sit, stoop, and stand intermittently throughout the workday Must be able to work with hands and fingers throughout the workday Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so the requirements of this position can be fully met
