As a Tesla Cell Recycling Engineering Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational availability of a wide array of manufacturing equipment. You will apply your technical skills to install, maintain and repair mechanical and electrical systems, and factory automation. You will work with the highest caliber process and equipment engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and minimize or eliminate downtime. Tesla's Engineering Technicians are also the first-responding problem solvers who manage machine breakdown recoveries to keep production running.
Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day coverage for production line equipment, responding promptly to alarms, breakdowns, and production requests to minimize downtime Diagnose equipment failures, identify root causes, and communicate actions taken to the team Attain Journeyman Level proficiency on all assigned machines, overseeing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting/repair, cleanliness, and equipment escalation Take initiative to enhance preventive maintenance documents and schedules under the guidance of the Maintenance Supervisor and Leads Perform major equipment repairs and rebuilds, including some weekends and holidays Efficiently utilize manufacturing systems (MES, Spares Inventory, Issue Tracking) for effective operations Collaborate with Process and Equipment engineering and other cross-functional groups to address maintenance issues, enhance equipment reliability, review procedures, and minimize downtime Requirements
Areas of specialization: electrical/electronics, mechanical/machining, or automation/PLC Proven ability to create and maintain a positive atmosphere in collaborative work teams. Effective workload management and contribution to a positive, team-oriented work environment Expertise in troubleshooting automation, conveyance, and electromechanical systems. Strong Allen Bradley PLC experience desired Proficient in using various hand and portable tools, as well as general machining and welding Familiarity with common workplace software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), along with the ability to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings and electrical schematics Willingness to work in hazardous areas, handle chemicals, and navigate confined spaces, adhering to safety protocol. Willingness to perform shift and overtime as required, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs Wear a full-face air-purifying respirator while performing tasks, maintaining safety standards throughout employment Compensation and Benefits Benefits
