THE OPPORTUNITY The Master Planner is responsible for all manufacturing-related schedule activities including planning, stockroom management, shipping, and coordinating with Supply Chain at two Galvion locations, Marlborough, Massachusetts and Portsmouth, New Hampshire. This position is responsible for ensuring material and resources are available for manufacturing, on-schedule, by successfully managing and executing the Galvion sales, inventory, and operations planning (SIOP) process for Galvion Advanced Capabilities and Galvion Power and Data Systems. The Master Planner is highly skilled in hands-on master planning using ERP/MRP and assists with supplier management so that customer commitments for on-time delivery are continually met. The Master Planner will work with and lead cross functional teams on lean manufacturing projects and operations initiatives to continuously lower cost, improve lead times and eliminate waste. In addition to program and manufacturing responsibilities, this position supervises stockroom and shipping/receiving personnel. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING People: Directly plans all manufacturing using a SIOP process working directly with leads from manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain. Directly supervises a resource in stockroom/shipping/receiving and maintains accuracy in inventory and all material movement. Works closely with supply chain buyers meeting scheduled material demand for efficient manufacturing and customer on-time delivery. Directly assists and trains, as necessary, manufacturing personnel on proper ERP/MRP transaction logging and other material entry information. Directly communicates, as necessary, production schedules, and planning forecasts to customers. Process: Creates, implements, and executes the SIOP process. Creates and is responsible for the site manufacturing master plan. Maintains all material and planning transactions within ERP/MRP system. Develops, documents, and maintains a site shipping/receiving department. Develops, documents, and maintains site stockrooms, using cycle counts to measure and report monthly on inventory accuracy. Hands-on ERP/MRP data entry of BOMs, Routers, Workstations, and other information required for accurate planning and forecasting of all manufacturing work requirements. Hands-on management of shipping, receiving functions at Marlborough and Portsmouth locations. Hands-on management of inventory kitting and backflushing of direct material used in customer orders. Responsible for serialization and material traceability for all customer orders. Additional tasks as assigned. Performance: Ensures all customer orders are shipped on-time to contract commitment dates. Uses ERP/MRP to enter and process manufacturing jobs, kitting allocations, and other planned manufacturing requirements for material and resources. Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and accurately forecast requirements for materials and resources. Performs analysis and provides reports with respect to material, planning schedules, and shipping as required by leadership and customers. Establishes and maintains KPIs for SIOP functions including, but not limited to, forecasting, scheduling, shipping/receiving, and inventory. Performs other related duties as assigned. Bachelor of Science degree in supply chain management or equivalent. WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED 5+ years of experience in supply chain management. Computer literate, proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook specifically). Proficient use of ERP/MRP systems is required (INFOR Visual or Syteline experience is a plus). Experience using a SIOP process. Experience with and willingness to be hands-on with planning and shipping/receiving activities. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must have effective project management skills. Strong problem solving, communication and organizational skills. Ability to deliver high-quality results within corporate goals in a timely manner. Responsiveness to external and internal customers and a can-do, positive attitude are a must.
