GB Tech, Inc. has an immediate need for a Business Analyst 2 for our Austin Energy contract.

1. Partner with decision makers, system owners, and end users to define business, technical and functional requirements, and systems goals 2. Conduct meetings to elicit and document requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to potential IT solutions
3. Create models, use cases, process flows, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to developers, designers, and vendors
4. Develop statements of work for software enhancements
5. Write and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in IT applications
6. Coordinate and perform end-user reviews, tests for modified systems, training, and other related technical support
7. Use SQL to research problems and develop basic to intermediate reports
8. Respond to customer ticket requests; troubleshoot problems and escalate where appropriate
9. Execute administrative and technical tasks associated with administration of ordinance
WORKER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS (Required)
Minimum (Required): YearsSkills/Experience4Proficient in eliciting requirements from key stakeholders and documenting them in visual models and written specifications. 4Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, SharePoint,
Visio, and collaboration software4Proficient in change management methodologies and management of service requests using ticketing system4Proficient in developing documentation artifacts to explain existing and proposed system states4Writes detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer programs4Knowledge of relational database principles and querying
Preferred (Optional): YearsSkills/ExperienceExhibit strong customer friendly approach2Knowledge of Jira or similar tool for managing requirements2Knowledge of Agile development 2Familiarity with API design and function 2Experience documenting requirements for application code, reporting, and API development (esp. javascript, Python, SQL)
Knowledge of Tableau or similar Business Intelligence tools
TERM OF SERVICE: November 2024 through September 30, 2025 (May be extended into FY26)
WORK HOURS AND LOCATION
The position is remote, with occasional in-person meetings with stakeholder, site visits, and team meetups at Austin Energy Headquarters: 4815 Mueller Blvd, Austin, TX 78723. Applicants should live in Austin or the surrounding area.
NOTE: Contractor will be required to be onsite the first two (2) weeks for training.
Mon-Fri from 8am-5pm, with some flexibility once established
