H.S. Diploma/GED
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Basic Life Support (BLS)
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS- Attend and satisfactorily complete all required continuing education regarding the care of acute stroke patients
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Responsibilities
-
- Ensure quality by verifying patient identification and specimen labeling.
- Performs all tasks necessary to register patients and enter lab orders into the lab computer system.
- Performs a variety of routine and complex blood drawing procedures including but not limited to venipuncture, finger and heel sticks, and blood cultures.
- Performs point-of-care testing specimen processing in the ambulatory setting.
- Performs Point-of-Care testing
- Performs a variety of routine and complex blood draws
- Collects and processes specimens accurately
- Ensures quality by verifying patient identification and specimen labeling
