The Opportunity

As Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting at Catalis, you will develop and lead our revenue accounting team and processes and be responsible for all facets of revenue accounting including SaaS subscription, license, and professional services revenue. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, you will build a highly functioning revenue team and processes and serve as subject matter expert of revenue recognition matters and execution. The successful candidate will bring expertise in ASC 606 and its application in an Enterprise Software and Professional Services organization.

This role is hybrid, and the ideal candidate will be in the Alpharetta/Atlanta, GA metro area.

What you Will do
  • Develop and retain best-in-class revenue team and processes, ensuring accuracy and consistency in the company's revenue recognition practices and reporting.
  • Lead and standardize operational and revenue close practices, including detailed review of revenue recognition entries, reconciliations, supporting documentation and preparation of related reporting and presentations.
  • Apply GAAP accounting standards with emphasis on ASC 606 revenue recognition optimizing process flows, reconciliations by customer, and identifying accounting implications and impacts for our Enterprise Software and Professional Services business
  • Develop, lead and manage professional services percent complete revenue recognition processes and reporting systems, including critical audits of data from Professional Services Automation (PSA) tools.
  • Review non-standard customer agreements, evaluating revenue recognition impacts, and propose modifications that alight with internal policies and company objectives.
  • Document and review accounting conclusions in audit ready memos and lead communication of those conclusions among internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership and auditors.
  • Work cross-functionally with corporate operations, sales operations and professional services teams to streamline accurate, consistent and timely workflows and revenue processes.
  • Identify, manage and support revenue recognition related software and tools, fostering continuous improvement and efficiency in revenue recognition policies and practices.
  • Work with financial statement auditors to support audit and disclosure requirements.
  • Cultivate an environment that encourages maximum productivity and service effectiveness, personal growth and development, open communication and teamwork.
  • Provide outstanding customer service to employees, department leaders, management, auditors, vendors and customers.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders at the company, including Corporate Accounting, Tax, FP&A, Legal, HR, Sales, Revenue Operations, IT and others.
Requirements

What you Will Need to Succeed
  • CPA Required and Big Four accounting experience highly desirable
  • 5+ years of experience working in revenue related functions in an enterprise software and professional services organization.
  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance or related field and equivalent experience.
  • Expertise of ASC 606 revenue recognition accounting rules in an enterprise software and professional services organization.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and leading revenue teams and processes
  • Experience with NetSuite, SalesForce, Kantata, Workday and other systems a plus.
  • Strong project management experience, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adaptable to changing priorities and evolving responsibilities.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, verbal and written communications skills, and strong customer orientation
