Job Description

Position Overview:

The Data & Accountability Manager is responsible for designing, managing, and analyzing data systems and processes to support KIPP Kansas City's commitment to high student achievement and accountability. This role ensures that data systems provide timely, relevant, and actionable information for school leaders, teachers, and regional leadership. By building a culture of data literacy and accountability, this position plays a critical role in driving instructional and organizational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Data Management & Analysis

    • Develop and maintain robust data systems for tracking student progress, school performance, and instructional effectiveness.
    • Design and manage data collection processes for academic assessments, attendance, behavioral metrics, and other key performance indicators.
    • Conduct analyses and generate data reports that inform decision-making for principals, teachers, and regional leaders.
    • Ensure data quality by implementing processes for accurate data entry, reporting, and audit procedures.
  • Accountability & Reporting

    • Support the development of accountability frameworks aligned with state, regional, and organizational goals.
    • Prepare and submit compliance reports to external stakeholders, including state and district offices, as required.
    • Track school performance against benchmarks and organizational goals, providing insights into areas for improvement.
    • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Achievement to monitor and communicate school performance metrics across schools.
  • Data-Driven Culture & Training

    • Build data literacy among staff by developing resources and training to support effective data use in decision-making.
    • Collaborate with school leaders and instructional staff to integrate data into instructional planning, student interventions, and school improvement initiatives.
    • Lead professional development sessions on data tools, systems, and best practices for interpreting and using data.
    • Create clear and actionable data visualizations, dashboards, and reports that provide insight into progress and trends.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

    • Work closely with school leaders, regional leaders, and instructional teams to support the data needs of each school.
    • Facilitate regular data reviews with school leadership teams to evaluate progress and adjust strategies based on data insights.
    • Serve as the point of contact for external data vendors, ensuring the effective integration of data tools and systems.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree in Education, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in data analysis, data management, or related work in an educational or nonprofit environment.
  • Strong proficiency in data management and visualization tools (Excel, Google Sheets, and Power BI; experience with educational data systems is a plus).
  • Knowledge of state and federal education reporting requirements and familiarity with academic performance metrics.

Additional Information

Work Environment

  • Reports to work Monday-Friday and some weekends. 
  • A typical school or office environment with frequent interruptions.

Travel Requirements:

  • Ability to travel to work location.

Salary is based on years of experience, educational background, and level of expertise.
