Job Title: Senior Controls Engineer - Corporate Location: Old Fort, NC or Spartanburg, SCReports to: Senior Maintenance Manager Travel Requirements: Up to 50%, including international travel to MexicoPosition Overview:We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Controls Engineer who is a problem solver and change agent, committed to advancing our systems to the next level. This role will focus on providing controls for automated equipment, with key responsibilities in PLC and HMI programming, troubleshooting network commissioning, and equipment integration. The ideal candidate will be based out of either our Old Fort, NC or Spartanburg, SC facility and must be willing to travel up to 50%, including trips to MexicoKey Responsibilities:Design, develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, controls, devices, and systems to enhance overall productivity and reduce downtimeTroubleshoot and work with Allen-Bradley PLCs (500, RS Logix, Micro Logix, Compact Logix, Control Logix) and Siemens PLC programming to ensure optimal system performanceIdentify, research, and resolve issues related to scrap, downtime, and equipment deficiencies to improve process reliabilityLead the implementation of process changes, new automation projects, and installation of new equipment at various locations, including MexicoCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, maintenance, quality, and operations, to address equipment performance issues and optimize plant processesDevelop and maintain electrical and control schematics while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standardsProvide technical support for system commissioning, start-ups, and ongoing maintenance both locally and internationallyRequirements:Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (preferred)5+ years of experience in automation controls/electrical engineeringStrong proficiency in PLC and HMI programming, particularly with Allen-Bradley and Siemens systemsMechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills for complex automation systemsExperience with Ethernet/IP Industrial Protocol, vision sensors, and barcode scanning systemsProven ability to identify root causes of issues, implement solutions, and drive continuous improvementFlexibility to work varying hours and travel up to 50%, including international travel to MexicoAbility to read and interpret electrical drawings (mechanical drawings would be a bonus) and control schematicsExperience working with robotic systems and robot controllersDesired Skills:Hands-on Electrical troubleshooting and installation experienceArc Flash and Electrical Safety knowledge (OSHA 1910, NFPA 70E, NEC Standards)Electrical journeyman card is a plusExperience with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) systems is a plusExperience with smart cameras (e.g., Keyence, Cognex, Banner) is a plusBilingual in English and Spanish is a plus but not required
