Reporting to the Executive Director of Facilities Management, you will perform preventative maintenance and routine repairs on plumbing systems. Additionally, you will handle all clerical and administrative duties to ensure the University remains in good standing with all relevant codes and regulations. Join us and play a crucial role in maintaining our high standards while leading a talented team of plumbers.

Essential Functions & Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The following are the functions essential to performing this job:
- Assists higher-level plumbers in the completion of licensed plumbing work.
- Repairs water distribution piping and waste water piping including steam and hot water systems.
- Performs preventative maintenance on plumbing systems, including exercising valves.
- Installs new pipe to accommodate system expansion or modification.
- Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
Individuals in the job may be assigned one or more of the following tasks on a rotating or as-needed basis.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- May supervise and train one or more subordinates.
- Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- The individual in this job must possess these skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation using some other combination of skills and abilities:
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and other written instructions.
- Ability to manage employees in the Plumbing Shop.
- Knowledge of steam, water, and natural gas distribution systems maintenance and repair.
- Ability to perform preventative maintenance according to published guidelines.

Qualification Standards
- Demonstrate ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
- Plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair skills.
- Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
- Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.
- Must have a high school diploma, trade school certificate or GED.
- Must have at least ten years work experience in the field of plumbing.
- Performing basic trouble shooting and repair. Clearing blocked pipes using power equipment, re-piping, and installing new components.
- Journeyman's Plumber's License.
