Job Summary

The Structural Engineer III must possess a strong technical background and sound engineering judgement which will be applied in the development of structural steel and concrete design deliverables for a diverse range of projects, primarily in the industrial sector.

Essential Functions
  • Actively supports the Company's commitment to safety and its "Core Values".

  • Works collaboratively in a team environment; interacts with individuals at all organizational levels in professional manner.
  • Performs concrete and structural steel designs and analyses per project requirements and applicable codes (AISC 360, ACI 318, ASCE 7, IBC, e.g.).
  • Prepares sketches and coordinates with Designers/Drafters in the development of 3D models and 2D design drawings.
  • Assists in preparation of technical reports and specifications.
  • Performs field activities, such as observing and documenting existing conditions and taking measurements in a variety of environments.
  • May function as Lead Engineer, supervising designers and other engineering staff members, interfacing directly with project personnel and clients, and monitoring budgets and schedules.
  • Performs other related duties, as directed.
  • Occasional overtime and travel may be required.
Qualifications
  • BS or MS in Civil Engineering, specializing in Structures
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) registration highly preferred
  • 5+ years engineering experience, preferably in structural steel and concrete design of industrial facilities such as gas plants, liquid terminals, LNG facilities, chemical plants, and bulk material handling facilities
  • Knowledge of strength of materials, mechanics, and structural analysis
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in the use of STAAD Pro or similar structural design and analysis software
  • Knowledge of codes and standards relevant to structural steel and concrete design (AISC 360, ACI 318, ASCE 7, IBC, e.g.)
  • Proficient in Microsoft WORD and Excel
