Job Description
Core Responsibilities: Quality Assurance Leader
- Manage GMP Accreditation & Inspections: Oversee the certification process for Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), including conducting internal audits and preparing for external evaluations to ensure ongoing compliance with industry standards.
- Enforce GMP & Safety Standards: Ensure strict adherence to GMP and safety protocols across all production areas to maintain a safe and compliant workplace.
- Cross-Functional Problem Solving: Collaborate with various departments to address quality issues and ensure that products consistently meet established quality standards.
- Maintain Consistent Daily Quality Standards: Supervise daily production activities to ensure quality benchmarks are met consistently, intervening when necessary to resolve any discrepancies.
- Problem Identification & Solution Implementation: Utilize problem-solving techniques and root cause analysis to identify issues, implement corrective actions, and prevent recurrence. Lead teams to exceed performance goals while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Drive Process Improvements: Facilitate cross-departmental meetings focused on continuous improvement, integrating quality and operational enhancements into daily workflows.
- Assess New Products for Quality: Conduct quality assessments of new products to ensure they meet all specifications and quality expectations before production begins.
- Support Safety & Compliance Programs: Contribute to the ongoing management of safety programs, including HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points), ensuring the safety and integrity of products.
- Address Customer Feedback: Manage customer complaints by working with operators and supervisors to identify the root cause and implement corrective actions.
- Supervise Critical Production Runs: Oversee key production runs, especially for major customers, to promptly address any potential issues and ensure quality standards are met.
- Data Collection & Reporting: Collect, analyze, and ensure timely submission of data reports, tracking product quality and process performance metrics.
- Collaborate with Design & Pre-Press Teams: Work closely with design and pre-press teams to conduct testing and ensure that new products meet quality standards before production.
- Manage Product Traceability & Recall: Oversee product traceability and recall systems, ensuring that all products are easily traceable and can be recalled if necessary.
- Maintain Documentation & Records: Ensure the accuracy and up-to-date status of all quality control documentation, audits, and corrective actions in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Oversee Allergen Awareness Programs: Lead allergen management initiatives to ensure compliance with allergen labeling and safety requirements.
- Lead Corrective Action Programs: Oversee corrective and preventive action processes, ensuring that internal and external customer complaints are addressed thoroughly with effective solutions.
- Update Quality Documentation & SOPs: Regularly review and update the quality manual and standard operating procedures to reflect any changes in processes, regulatory requirements, or industry best practices.
- Ensure SOP Compliance Across Teams: Monitor compliance with established procedures across departments, ensuring all teams adhere to quality standards throughout the production process.

The Successful Applicant
Educational Requirements: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Business or a related discipline, is preferred.
Professional Experience: 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience in safety management and quality assurance, ideally within a manufacturing environment. Experience in the corrugated packaging industry is a strong advantage.
Licensing: A valid, up-to-date driver's license is required.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with external contractors, service technicians (both on-site and remote), and internal teams.
Availability: Flexibility to work extra hours and weekends as needed to meet business objectives.
Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with standard office software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, is beneficial.
Certifications: OSHA 30-hour certification is highly preferred. Forklift/High Lift Trainer certification and UST Class A/B operator training or certification are also advantageous.
