Our technical expertise is paired with an exceptional team of business development, human resources, finance and accounting, information technology, and marketing professionals, all of whom play a key role in bringing our commitments to life every day.Remote but MUST be located in Portland, ORJob Summary:The Electrical Engineer will design building electrical systems including power, lighting, fire alarm, and special systems. The candidate will have the opportunity to work on projects in our healthcare sectorIn this role, you will:Responsibilities include design of the following systems: Normal and emergency power distribution systems, single line diagrams, load calculations and layout drawings. Switchgear, switchboards, distribution panels, panelboards and dry type transformers. Fire alarm systems. Short circuit, voltage drop and conductor derating calculations. Grounding and bonding. Lighting photometry calculations, including egress lighting requirements and modeling. Specification editing. Arc flash hazard analysis studies a plus. Proficient of Emergency generator, transfer switches. Proficient in NEC and NFPA 70 guidelines. Proficient of Oregon code requirements and energy standards. Proficient in writing engineering assessment reports and engineering basis of design documents. Experience in field investigation, construction administration and contractor coordination Proficiency in Energy Pro or a thorough knowledge of Oregon Title 24 requirements. Proficient of ComCheck and International Energy Conservation Code requirements a plus. Knowledge with Helioscope or similar Photovoltaic energy modeling software a plus. Proficiency in AutoCAD. Knowledge in microgrid systems is a plus. Proficient and Knowledgeable in Revit skills Proficiency in MS Office products. Must have the ability to work independently with minimal guidance Strong written and verbal communication skills. Eager to learn and develop as a professional Must have the ability to efficiently plan and organize work. Must have reliable transportation available as project site visits will be required. Develop the electrical systems design of a given project based on scope of work and/or client requirements. Provide engineering planning, design, and construction administration for all electrical systems including power, lighting, and fire alarm systems. Conduct existing building surveys and documentations of existing electrical and fire alarm systems. Write/edit project specifications.You will be a great fit if: You have a minimum of 5 years design experience. You have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. You have LEED certification/experience. PE/EIT is preferred. You have experience with projects in healthcare, science and technology, education and commercial buildings. Educational projects design is preferred. You have knowledge of electrical calculations including lighting photometric calcs, voltage drop and overcurrent protection coordination, and short circuit calculations.Skills/abilities: Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office. Familiarity with Oregon codes, standards, and design guidelines. Excellent work ethic and attitude. Good communication and time management skills. Interpersonal communication skills, combined with organizational skills, the ability to plan, balance, and prioritize work.
