For more information, visit www.owenscorning.com.Sr. Controls Engineer responsibilities: Design, build, and troubleshoot electrical control or robotic systems for machinery and equipment. Program and deploy PLC Logic, HMI, Database Management, and other facility programs. Select and program motion control systems including servos, steppers, and VFDs. Select and program various types of sensors including laser, vision systems, photoelectric, proximity, ultrasonic, etc. Select and program machine safety systems including safety PLCs, light curtains, area scanners, gate interlocks, etc. Troubleshoot, debug and support launch of new equipment in facilities; support FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) and SAT (Site Acceptance Test); along with creating documentation to effectively document requirements and execution of all new process equipment. Strategic planning to provide recommendations regarding process improvements, automation, design for manufacturability, and new product/process development. Skills Strong technical knowledge of electrical/control systems and the ability to apply these concepts within a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple challenging projects and assignments with high level of autonomy and accountability for results. Experience with network communication, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, RFID, SCADA systems, and IT protocols. Strong organizational and exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. Deep knowledge of lean manufacturing systems. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams. Competent in use of MS Office Suite, Project Management tools and ERP software. Education Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering or Industrial Management desired. Oregon LME Electrical Engineer license is required.10 years experience as a Controls Engineer in a lean manufacturing environment required. Experience 10+ Years of experience as a controls engineer & PLC experience. 10+ Years of experience in manufacturing environment Green Belt in Lean Sigma or equivalent experience a plus.
