Reports to: Housekeeping SupervisorJob Description: The housekeeper isresponsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for theresidents, staff, and visitors of the skilled nursing facility. This includescleaning and disinfecting resident rooms, common areas, and other designatedareas of the facility as needed.Duties andResponsibilities:•Clean and disinfectresident rooms, bathrooms, and common areas such as hallways, dining rooms, andrecreational areas.•Dust, sweep, mop, andvacuum floors, and perform carpet cleaning as needed.•Clean and sanitize allsurfaces such as countertops, sinks, toilets, and showers.•Dispose of trash andhazardous waste according to facility policies and procedures.•Restock housekeepingsupplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, and soap dispensers as needed.•Assist with laundry servicesas needed, including washing, drying, and folding resident clothing and linens.•Report any equipmentmalfunctions or needed repairs to the Housekeeping Supervisor or Administrator.•Follow establishedsafety procedures, including using personal protective equipment (PPE) whenappropriate.•Maintain a positiveand professional demeanor with residents, staff, and visitors at all times.Qualifications:•High school diploma orequivalent preferred.•Previous housekeepingexperience preferred, preferably in a healthcare or hospitality setting.•Ability to read andfollow written and verbal instructions.•Ability to workindependently and as part of a team.•Strong attention todetail and ability to maintain a high level of cleanliness and sanitation.•Ability to lift up to50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.•Ability to pass abackground check and drug screening.Working Conditions:The housekeeper willwork in a skilled nursing facility environment, which may include exposure to unpleasantodors, bodily fluids, and hazardous materials. The position may requireextended periods of standing, walking, bending, and lifting. The housekeepermay be required to work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts. Personalprotective equipment (PPE) will be provided when needed.This job descriptionis not intended to be all-inclusive.
