Overview:

The Carpenter will be responsible for complex carpentry projects, site prep work, as well as learning the installation of all GDI product lines. May be assigned to lead and supervise a carpentry project. The supervision of Apprentices will also include training, planning, assigning, and directing work in accordance with GDIs policies and installation practices.
Advancement to Lead Carpenter may be offered as openings are available due to branch need. This will also be determined by a number of factors such as overall job knowledge, skill level, quality of performance, adherence to all company policies and procedures, safety, and attendance.
1. Review work jacket with supervisor
2. Review and confirm accuracy of breakout in accordance with customer contract
3. Perform site prep which includes any work needed to modify the existing structure.
4. Carpentry work can include deck modifications, dormer installation, overhang cutoffs, wood knee wall builds, wall alterations, floor and ridge plates, and finish carpentry work.
5. Simple and complex decks
6. Demolition
7. Layout and cut all materials to install the job
8. Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work site
9. Install All View, ComfortView, and Solarium products
10. Layout and build complex wood roofs
11. Complex carpentry duties such as dormer attachment, fascia removal, fascia attachment, structural remodeling, and rehabilitation work
12. Performs service work
13. Collect necessary stage payments from customer when applicable
14. May be responsible for set up, take down, and repair of displays used for various outside marketing events
15. Must possess the ability to manage themselves, the crew, and our customers.
16. Other duties may be assigned
Qualifications:The candidate must have at least five years experience in carpentry, preferably in remodeling with three to five years in a lead role. This person must be able to use various hand and power tools, build simple decks, etc. Working knowledge of concrete, electrical, plumbing, roofing, siding, and metal break work is a must.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:
1. Post Installation customer service survey, top score 90% or better
2. Online reviews, 10% of jobs installed
3. Capable of installing all GDI products-AV, CV, solariums, blinds, shades, awnings, and building simple decks.
4. Capable of complex carpentry (i.e. wood roofs, knee walls, and prime doors)
