**Job Description Summary**
The Engineer, BD Excellence will provide technical, Blitz and training support for Manufacturing departments personnel. Works directly with Senior Engineers, BD Excellence Managers and Operations personnel when new improvements can yield benefits to improve OEE or minimize Waste. This position is accountable in obtaining required throughput rates and work with and through Performance Excellence, Production, and Engineering to achieve these goals. This position may be required to train technical associates on machine monitoring to diagnose problems that impact OEE and Waste.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:**
Key tasks and strategic accountability:
+ Active member of Focused Improvement component team.
+ Develop and grow problem solving capability at all levels.
+ Support implementation of CI projects across all dimensions SQDC.
+ Help coordinate activity of component teams and focused improvement project teams to eliminate loss, according to strategic goals.
+ Help generate, sustain, and deliver a multi-year Cost to Win (CTW) portfolio, support governance processes, and optimization of the site loss landscape. Help meet or exceed CtW (Cost to Win) goals through leading and /or supporting Focused Improvement team savings projects (Loss Landscape).
+ Teach and coach BD Excellence concepts and systematic approach, including strategy deployment, core components, Zero Loss mindset and all related methodologies / tools. Lead and facilitate breakthrough Kaizen events and support other BD Excellence components in problem solving capability development.
+ Support development of zero loss mindset across critical areas to optimize quality, delivery and cost while improving safety.
+ Help develop and grow capability through components and component teams to establish the fundamentals of excellence in safety, quality, and reliability. Coach and guide project selection process to ensure focus of resources and time on priorities.
+ Ensure strategic alignment through cascading Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) top down and bottom up. Support BD Excellence deployment and governance process across all relevant components.
+ Drive BD Excellence capability development through deployment of progressively advanced aspects of component methodologies. Support attainment of long-term CI objectives through cross functional teams with shared goal.
+ Drive use of effective data-driven visual-management techniques, e.g., Business-Operating-System (BOS) charts to drive improvement of KPIs such as OEE, waste, labor, productivity, etc. Active role in governance and action tracking of improvements, with periodic reporting of activity completion dates, expected and achieved results.
**TECHNICAL AREA OF EXPERTISE:**
+ Previous experience in implementing, and strong knowledge of, Lean and Six Sigma business systems. Six sigma green or black belt certification preferred.
+ Demonstrated passion for safety, customer centricity and operational excellence.
+ Understanding of the interaction between operational excellence and customer service.
+ Excellent and effective verbal and written communication skills with people at all levels.
+ Track record in project or program management.
+ Experience of working in a multi-site and multi-cultural environment.
+ Business acumen and ability to display the linkage between projects and desired business results.
+ Able to develop compelling business case for resource investment, aligned with CTW finance policies and guidelines.
**Minimum Requirement:**
+ BA Degree in Engineering or similar
+ 2-3 years experience manufacturing
+ Six Sigma Certification Preferred
