The Maintenance Technician Assistant III is responsible for assisting in the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical components and other equipment within the facility. This role involves performing a range of semi-skilled tasks, with a focus on ensuring the proper operation and safety of electrical systems and other mechanical equipment. The individual in this position works under limited supervision and may provide technical guidance to junior maintenance personnel. Other responsibilities include:
Electrical Maintenance (50%)
- Utilize multi-meters for AC voltage, DC voltage, and OHM measurements.
- Troubleshoot 12-volt, 24-volt, and 110-volt control circuit issues.
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain photo eyes, sensors, actuators, transformers, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, and electric eyes.
- Use blueprints and wiring diagrams to plan and execute electrical repairs and installations.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and replace PLCs, servo drives, frequency drives, and related electronic hardware.
- Perform maintenance on electrical conduit systems, including sizing and installing conduit.
- Disassemble, inspect, reassemble, and repair malfunctioning electrical parts or equipment, including input/output boards, controllers, servos, gears, sprockets, chains, etc.
- Apply technical knowledge to ensure proper execution of assignments, using tools such as pipe benders, pipe threaders, hammers, and screwdrivers.
- Assist the maintenance team with general facility maintenance needs, including plumbing repairs, HVAC system maintenance, and minor building repairs (e.g., windows, doors, floors, walls).
- Move and install furniture or equipment as needed within the facility.
- Support preventive maintenance tasks to ensure ongoing operation of building systems.
- Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to safety standards and procedures, complying with legal codes and regulations.
- Assist in designing safety devices for machinery and plant equipment to eliminate occupational hazards.
- Conduct risk identification to minimize the severity or frequency of accidents.
- Assist in scheduling and performing routine preventive maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems.
- Ensure that maintenance procedures are followed according to established standards, including regular inspections of fire and sprinkler systems and fire extinguishers.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in electrical and equipment maintenance and repair.
- Proficiency in using PLCs, frequency drives, and understanding 3-phase power systems (277 volts and 480 volts), as well as AC and DC control voltages.
- Experience with pneumatics (cylinders, air valves, air compressors) and the ability to read and use micrometers.
- Skilled in the use of various tools and test equipment necessary for electrical and mechanical repairs.

- The ability to occasionally lift boxes and product samples weighing >30lbs (TVs, other electronics, etc.) is required as necessary.
