HSE Manager

Position Description

(This job is specific to Construction Services). Responsible for all field level implementation of health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures and guidelines as required. Duties are likely to be within a defined at multiple work projects, and or, work locations. Assists in various activities, including but not limited to risk identification, incident reporting, incident investigations, waste minimization, pollution prevention and control, and various compliance activities in all areas of HSE. Assists in the conducting of inspections and assessments. Recordkeeping and other general administrative duties are likely to be part of assigned duties. Good oral and written communications are required as well as organizational abilities. Assignments are well defined. Requires knowledge of company HSE programs, policies, procedures, and processes, as well as familiarity with applicable regulatory requirements, as well as clients HSE practices and procedures. Typical requirements include one to three years technical or practical experience in a related field. Degree or specialized training preferred.

Requirements
  • 3 - 10 years of working experience as a HSE Manager required, CSP or other accreditations from the BCSP preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen test
  • Perform Safety audits on the job, ability to interact, correct, motivate others to perform safe work practices and correct unsafe acts.
  • Experience, ability to have a strong Injury Management background is required.
  • Manage and leads HSE initiatives and HSE personnel.
  • Ability to enter safety data in employers and client's safety data bases will be required.
  • Must be willing to work overtime / weekends to oversee work, available 24/7 in the event of an emergency.
  • Work well with others, able to build and foster client relationships as well as coaching and engaging subordinates in a professional speaking manner. Cultivate their respect and trust in you.

  • Responsiveness required to all phone calls, text messages and emails, especially in the event of an emergency.

  • Knowledge and experience with OSHA regulations.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Flexibility to cover all Wilmington, DE area sites.
  • Assure that all employees comply with jobsite procedures and guidelines.
  • Create / attend / lead weekly Safety toolbox meeting topics.
  • Capable of Planning & Scheduling HSE related work/training/meeting activities.
  • Possesses fluent computer skills, such as Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, OneDrive.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written required.
  • Instructor, training, and skill certifications may be required for certain subjects.
  • OSHA 10, 30, 40 would be a plus.
