Housekeeper

Full-Time position in Housekeeping and Laundry Department - every other weekend included.General Description:Performs housekeeping and cleaning activities within well established guides and assigned areas.Duties:Receives assignments from Housekeeping SupervisorFollows cleaning schedules (daily, weekly, monthly) as outlined for housekeeping departmentCleans assigned areas, furnishings, fixtures, according to established housekeeping proceduresCleans floors, dry mops, wet mops, sweeps, disinfects where and when necessaryPerforms emergency housekeeping where accidents occurCleans moveable and stationary furnishings and fixtures: Dusts, spot cleans or washes, disinfects when necessary, polished where requiredEmpties and cleans ashtraysEmpty, clean and reline wastebaskets with appropriate trash bagsInspects furnishings and fixtures for wear and reports to supervisorCleans bathrooms (resident, private, public)Washes windows and mirrors. Washes walls and doors as scheduledReplenishes bathroom suppliesPerforms terminal cleaning duties according to the established procedures in resident rooms when a resident has been discharged or transferred, and prepares room for new occupantCleans and rehangs curtains or drapesSend soiled linens to laundryReport observations concerning structural and equipment wear, defects and malfunctions to your supervisorReport supply and equipment needs to your supervisor for replenishmentWhen necessary may be required to assist with laundryPerforms other duties as directed by your supervisorResponsibilities:Maintaining clean and sanitary conditions in assigned areas as directed according to established standardsObserving proper cleaning and disinfecting techniquesEconomical use of supplies, care and use of equipmentKeeping up with work demandCooperating with other employees to promote efficiency and morale of departmentsAttendance is mandatoryMust be clean, well groomed and in uniform at all timesQualifications:At least 18 years of ageHigh School graduate or equivalentAble to read, write and speak EnglishPhysically healthy and strong enough to perform dutiesMust have yearly TB test or chest x-rayMust be familiar with basic housekeeping functions
