POSITION SUMMARY:Carpenters are required to perform a variety of tasks including erecting and setting forms for vertical and horizontal concrete structures and site work, per specifications and drawings.Responsibilities ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Perform Journeyman level Carpentry workRead and interpret measuring tools such as, tape measure, speed square, framing square...etc. In order to perform task accurately.Read and interpret project plans, blueprints, and other written instructions and diagrams in order to perform tasks accuratelyFully Understand Plant North and drawing coordinatesSet and place forms to proper elevations and location, prepare the base and install proper reinforcingExperience in setting and erecting forms using a wide variety of materials and forming systems for vertical and horizontal concrete forming.Mark cutting and assembly lines on materials. Shapes materials to prescribed measurements and assemble, fasten with nails, dowel pins or glueVerify accuracy of structures with plumb bob and carpenter's levelAble to perform general Carpentry tasks, such as, but not limited to build and install barricades, decks, shelves, and any other misc. Site needs and duties that may come up.Know how to form and finish walls, footers, grade beams, etcAble to Lay out and properly build and place embeds, anchor bolts,etc.Constructs forms and chutes for pouring concreteBe able to assist in placing/tying rebarBe able to assist in placing and finishing concreteDisassemble, remove, and clean form materialsErects scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground levelWork in other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by project supervision. Must have the ability to take direction from a higher skilled worker or foremanMust have basic knowledge of the construction processes involved in heavy industrial constructionSupport project with other tasks as directed by supervision.A Master Journeyman must be able to direct a small crew and/or mentor Journeyman and HelpersQualifications EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:4 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experienceNCCER Certification/License (preferred)Minimum 4 years of experience in Journeyman level roleKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:Be knowledgeable of MIC Health and Safety programs and project specific regulations.When on-site, actively participate in daily toolbox meetings with crews and subcontractors.Set a personal example of safe behavior.Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manualsAdd and subtract two-digit numbers, multiply and divide with 10's and 100's and ability to perform these operations using units weight measurement and volumeCommon sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral...
