Introduction
Brunel is looking to hire an Electrical Engineer to work with a major oil and gas company in Gregory, TX on a long term contract.
What are you going to do
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Technical teams to support operations as the site's electrical technology expert.
- Assist Maintenance in troubleshooting and equipment repairs, identify vulnerabilities, and propose cost-effective solutions.
- Participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and equipment reliability studies.
- Contribute to maintenance and turnaround worklists based on equipment history and reliability analysis.
- Develop maintenance procedures and training materials for technicians.
- Provide technical guidance on new and replacement projects from front-end development through commissioning.
- Design and specify electrical equipment, including motors, breakers, generators, and transformers (120V to 138kV).
- Champion electrical equipment reliability initiatives and drive strategic improvements.
- Conduct reliability analyses, develop long-term improvement plans, and evaluate new technologies.
- Engage in broader engineering networks and external peer reviews, representing site-specific electrical interests.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering within industrial or plant environments.
- Proficiency in designing and specifying electrical equipment, including motors, breakers, generators, and transformers (120V to 138kV).
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze and resolve complex electrical issues.
- Experience with reliability improvement initiatives and conducting reliability analyses.
- Knowledge of maintenance procedures, training development, and turnaround planning.
- Familiarity with incident investigations and root cause analysis techniques.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience in engaging with broader engineering networks and participating in peer reviews.
- Knowledge of applicable industry standards, regulations, and best practices in electrical engineering.
