Job Summary:

The Facility Electrician is a journeyman-level electrician who is responsible for leading electrical projects, supervising electricians, and ensuring that all electrical systems are installed, maintained, and repaired according to local electrical codes and safety standards. This role involves troubleshooting, designing electrical systems, and providing technical guidance to junior staff. The Facility Electrician plays a crucial role in managing complex electrical systems for new construction, renovations, and maintenance projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supervision and Leadership:
  • Supervise and mentor junior electricians, apprentices, and other staff to ensure high-quality work and compliance with electrical codes.
  • Manage a team of electricians for large projects, delegating tasks, and ensuring work is completed on time and within budget.
  • Conduct training sessions on safety practices and technical skills for team members.
  • Work closely with other departments and team members.
Electrical Installation and Design:
  • Design, install, and maintain electrical systems for new construction, remodels, and upgrades.
  • Understanding of blueprints, wiring diagrams, and electrical system specifications based on project requirements.
  • Ensure that all electrical installations comply with national and local electrical codes (NEC, local regulations, etc.).
  1. Troubleshooting and Repairs:
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical problems in residential, commercial, and industrial environments.
  • Repair and replace defective electrical systems, circuits, and components.

Code Compliance and Safety:

Project Management:

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Keep track of inventory and order necessary parts and materials.
Customer Service:

Qualifications:
  • Education & Certification:
    • High school diploma or GED (required).
    • Completion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent electrical training.
    • Valid Master Electrician license
    • Ongoing continuing education in electrical technologies and safety.
  • Experience:
    • At least 5-10 years of experience as an electrician, 2-3 as a Master electrician with a proven track record of leadership or supervisory roles.
    • Experience with a wide range of electrical systems, including residential, commercial, and industrial.
    • Expertise in diagnosing complex electrical problems and performing repairs.
  • Skills:
    • Advanced knowledge of electrical codes, systems, and safety protocols.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, and technical manuals.
    • Proficient in the use of electrical testing equipment and tools.
    • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Physical Requirements:
