Description
The primary objective of the Sr. Controls Applications Engineering position is to develop cost efficient and compliant controls solutions based on customer specifications and Mechanical Applications concepts. The typical role of a Sr. Control Applications Engineer at Calvary Robotics is to concentrate on the development of the automation system concept(s), price estimates, written proposals, and compliance matrices for lead Application Engineers based on the opportunities presented to Calvary Robotics by Account Managers and outside Sales Representatives. This position is critical as much of the company's profitability depends on accurate, compliant, and well thought out controls' application work. In addition, this role will play a key role in the identification and development of Calvary standard products from a control's perspective. Included in this effort is the evaluation and application of new innovative technologies. A Sr. Controls Applications Engineer may also be asked to lead and manage applications efforts with a team and outside resource.

Typical Day
- Review all Customer RFQ Controls Specifications to ensure Concept & Proposal conformance.
- Take lead role in compliance matrix development based on customer specifications.
- Development of Controls Architecture/Design/Concepts for all Proposal Applications.
- Develop and maintain practical working controls knowledge
- Provide the Controls description write-ups for Customer Proposals based
- Provide Material & Labor Cost Estimates for the Controls portions of all System Proposals.
- Perform Price and Technical Reviews for the Controls portions of all Proposal Applications.
- Maintain the Controls portions of the Estimating Cost Library.
- Participate in On-Site and Off-Site Customer Presentations & Meetings.
- Attend all Applications Engineering Concept Review Meetings.
- Assist with the Design and Development of the Controls portions of Calvary Design Standards and Modular Systems based on company initiatives.
- Occasionally perform complete Applications and Proposal Responses.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology, and/or other degrees
- In addition to or exclusive and demonstrated applicable industry experience
- 10+ years' experience in automation, machining building, manufacturing, or robotics
- Past management experience in leading technical teams
- Experience in Material Handling / Distribution Warehouses a plus
- Experience in Process Control (Food/Pharmaceutical) a plus
- Experience in Product Design helpful
- Concepting abilities
- Industry specific estimating capabilities
- Robotic programming and interfaces
- Rockwell and Siemens products and software suites
The salary range for this role is $115,000 to 125,000; however, Calvary Robotics considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and responsibilities, work experience, education, training and key skills.
