Sr. Mail Clerk

The University of Miami/UHealth department of Supply Chain has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Sr. Mail Clerk to work at UHealth Medical Campus.

Core Summary

The Senior Mail Clerk collects, processes and distributes incoming and outgoing mail ensuring confidentiality and appropriate postage and handling for all mail. He/she also guides the work of lower level mail clerks.

Core Responsibilities

  • Assists lower level mail clerks with day-to-day tasks, and assists with general training when needed.
  • Determines and affixes postage on registered mail and packages.
  • Dates and stamps incoming mail and disposes of junk mail.
  • Sorts mail by locator code and organizes by delivery route.
  • Assists in distribution of mail assigned locations.
  • Readdresses undeliverable mail bearing incomplete or incorrect address.
  • Maintains logs of postage charges, mail received and sent, and other relevant information.
  • Examines outgoing mail for appearance and ensures all mail and packages are properly sealed.
  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Core Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others.
