DescriptionBASIC QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION/TRAINING: High school diploma or equivalent preferredSKILLS: Ability to follow instructions and respond to resident requests for service and assistance Knowledge of computer functions, including designated organization-approved electronic software Excellent communication skills with residents, staff, families and the public Ability to read, write, speak, understand and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this positionEXPERIENCE: Knowledge of general cleaning procedures preferredGENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Understanding of state and federal healthcare laws and regulationsPerform a variety of tasks such as dust mopping and damp mopping floors, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, including sinks, tubs, commodes, washing walls and high dustingDaily cleaning and sanitizing of patient rooms furniture as well as sitting room area and dining room furnitureMeet residents' needs in a professional and courteous mannerSTANDARD REQUIREMENTS:Support the Mission, Values and Vision of the Holland Christian HomeUnderstand and honor the Christian principles of the organizationDemonstrate an understanding of the Residential Living principles, including resident choice, privacy, independence, and dignity in all interactions with residentsDemonstrate an understanding of the aging process, cognitive impairments, Alzheimer's and other dementiasReport known or suspected incidents of fraud to the AdministratorReport any known or suspected unauthorized attempt to access facility's information system Maintain HIPAA compliance as well as confidentiality of all data, including resident, employee and operations data Exhibit concern for safety and well-being of staff, residents, families, and visitorsESSENTIAL DUTIES: Collect all trash throughout the building and discard into dumpsters outside of the facility Clean and sanitize all public bathrooms and laundry rooms throughout the building Vacuum hallways, sitting areas, lobby, chapel, offices and residents' rooms Clean elevators and stairwells throughout the building Clean and sanitize residents' bathrooms and showers as well as check high dusting Bed and complete room cleaning in the Nursing Unit Participate in annual spring cleaning High dust throughout the building as needed Clean chairs and table bases in the main dining room Change and make beds once a week Pass out towels twice a week Do residents' laundry as needed Deliver patients' clothing in the Nursing Unit Replace paper towels, hand soap and pass out gloves as needed in the Nursing Unit Clean glass door entrances, windows in and out as well as blinds throughout the building Polish resident furniture and common areas throughout the building Participate in the Quality Assessment Performance Improvement Program (QAPI) Attend trainings to build understanding and capacity to undertake QAPI work Carry out QAPI roles and responsibilities as assigned Follow established policies and procedures in support of QAPI efforts Collect required data for Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) purposes, as directedOTHER DUTIES:Timely completion of all required in-servicesMust be present for at least one mandatory annual fire drillMust participate in annual N95 Fit Testing All other responsibilities that may be necessary to fulfill the duties associated with the position or as may be assignedRequirementsHOURS OF WORK:As per department scheduleWeekends, every other
