Description

Drake Cement and its sister location-the Tehachapi Cement Plant in California-form the cement unit of UNACEM North America. Together, they create a single, integrated business with an expansive market in the Southwest United States.

Responsibilities:
  • Prioritize safety in daily work activity: Ability to complete JHA (Job Hazard Analysis) and work area exams prior to work execution.
  • Perform preventative maintenance including installation, repair and troubleshooting of industrial electrical and/or instrumentation equipment (i.e. substations, power distribution systems, switchgear motors, motor controls, systems and components, process controls, instrumentation, pneumatic equipment, 480 Volt buckets and equipment).
  • Safe completion of routine and non-routine repairs and construction.
  • Must have strong knowledge in the maintenance and troubleshooting of AC/DC drives, PLCs, overhead cranes, management control systems, calibration of field transmitters/transducers, pressure meters, temperature sensors, weigh scales, low and medium voltage equipment.
  • Ability to perform installations and renovations compliant with regulatory agency standards, NFP 70 and current NEC Code.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and work area instructions, participate in safety and environmental activities, and use plant and equipment correctly at all times.
  • Ability to use Meggers, Fluke 789, Fluke 744, Fluke 754, Addiel hand pumps and gauges, Hart 475 field communicator, Altek calibrator.
  • Removal, repair and installation of electrical components, electrical systems, analysis and diagnosis, advanced troubleshooting and systems/process optimization; may mentor or train other electrical workers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • 5-10 years.
  • Construction, Mining and Metals, Heavy Industrial, or similar.
  • Experience with Bruker instrument diagnostics
  • 2 years of facility and/or equipment general preventative maintenance experience
  • Experience with VFDs, PLC, HMI, and/or SCADA Control Systems
  • Experience working with low and medium voltages
  • Experience with AC and/or DC controls
  • Experience with instrumentation devices
  • Experience with diagnostic electrical test equipment
  • Experience with HVAC equipment
