United Trades of America is seeking an experienced **Plumber** to join our team for projects in **Decatur, AL**. We are looking for a dedicated professional with a strong work ethic and advanced plumbing skills to perform installations, inspections, troubleshooting, and maintenance on sophisticated plumbing systems.
**Pay:** Based on experience $20-$25 an hour
**Functional Duties & Requirements:**
**System Analysis:**
- Evaluate blueprints, plans, and specifications to understand the plumbing requirements of a project.
- Analyze system designs to ensure efficient and effective plumbing solutions.
**Installation:**
- Set up advanced plumbing systems using copper, PVC, cast iron, screw pipe, and HDPE materials.
- Install systems integrated with HVAC and inert (medical) gas.
**Maintenance:**
- Inspect and test sophisticated plumbing installations to ensure they are functioning optimally.
- Conduct regular maintenance to prevent system failures and ensure longevity.
**Troubleshooting:**
- Identify and diagnose issues within complex plumbing networks.
- Provide timely and efficient solutions to restore plumbing systems.
**Safety Protocols:**
- Adhere to all safety regulations and standards, ensuring the safety of yourself and others on the job site.
- Follow strict compliance with safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment.
**Regulation & Code Compliance:**
- Ensure that all installations, repairs, and maintenance adhere to local, state, and national codes and standards.
**Collaboration:**
- Work closely with other tradespeople to execute projects in a coordinated and efficient manner.
**Documentation:**
- Assist with keeping detailed records of work performed, materials used, and relevant data for project documentation.
**Communication:**
- Engage with customers to gather requirements, provide updates, and offer expert solutions during the course of the project.
**Qualification Standards:**
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent, or completion of a trade school program.
- **Preferred**: Completion of M&D apprentice program.
- **Experience:** Previous plumbing experience is required.
- Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions, and use basic math.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong understanding of plumbing systems, components, and materials.
- Ability to read and comprehend project drawings.
- Must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to self-check work for accuracy.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and schedules.
- Strong **team player** with a collaborative mindset.
