As part of the Digital Risk Security Operations team, the Security Operations Engineer will play an integral role in configuring, implementing, and managing toolsets related to our incident detection and response function. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of implementing and maintaining threat detection solutions and staying ahead of emerging cyber threats. They also have both technical expertise and experience, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills to influence and seamlessly collaborate across multiple stakeholder groups. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Security Operations Incident Detection and Response.

Where is the work:

This is a Remote position.

What you will do:
  • Manage and assist with implementing tools and capabilities related to detection and response.
  • Enhance tools to ensure continuous, effective real time threat identification and response.
  • Parter with incident responders and threat intelligence analysts in order to provide recommendations on tool enhancements and configuration changes in line with emerging or new threats.
  • Work closely with other functions within Digital Risk on tuning of tools, and provide hands-on support as required.
  • Serve as the technical lead for tool support, patching, upgrades, and similar; including serving as the primary interface with key suppliers/vendors.
  • Coordinate with IT teams to manage, govern and enable enterprise security capabilities such as email security, EDR, SIEM, and similar.
  • Manage tool access and ensure alignment to internal policies and standards as applicable
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What you will bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or a minimum of 3-5 years of equivalent experience in cybersecurity.
  • Solid technical understanding of cybersecurity concepts, frameworks, standards, guidelines, and principles.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with security toolsets and software, such as EDR, SIEM, SOAR, email security, privilege and identity management, configuration management, desktop communications, operating systems, and internet directory services.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle time-sensitive situations with a calm and serious attitude while maintaining an appropriate sense of urgency.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to create collaborative relationships with colleagues across various groups and levels, and influence without authority.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work independently.
  • Strong preference for candidates that have at least one of the following: CISSP, SANS, CISA, CISM, or equivalent/similar cybersecurity certifications.
  • Travel: 5-10%.


Compensation:

Base Salary: $114,000 - $150,000Additional Compensation: Total compensation for this role also will include an incentive plan.
