We are looking for an Accounting Analyst to join our team in Louisville, KY. This position works onsite at our distribution center.

The Accounting Analyst is responsible for managing all aspects of accounts receivable functions, with a particular focus on credit limit reviews, collections, journal entries, and account reconciliations. The ideal candidate will ensure timely collections, manage credit risk, and maintain accurate financial records.

Reports to: Revenue Accounting Manager

Responsibilities

  • Review accounts receivable aging and take necessary actions to minimize delinquent accounts.
  • Collect accounts receivable through active telephone, email, and customer portal collection procedures and timely and effective follow-up.
  • Maintain accounts receivable records to ensure aging is up to date, credits and collections are applied, uncollectible amounts are accounted for, and miscellaneous differences are cleared.
  • Review and identify invalid customer deductions to initiate recovery of funds.
  • Evaluate customer financial statements and credit reports to determine appropriate credit limits for new and existing customers.
  • Continuous monitoring of accounts for changes in credit risk
  • Assist in the development and implementation of credit policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and post journal entries including but not limited to Co-op and select contractual allowances.
  • Support audit requests by providing necessary documentation and explanations of journal entries and account balances.
  • Assist with updating customer master with new contact data, payment method, terms, invoice delivery and any other information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced Excel including formulas, pivot tables, V/X Lookups
  • Thorough understanding of collections / billing processes and systems.
  • Experience with credit portfolio management and review, credit risk management and oversight, etc.
  • Experience in preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations.
  • Excellent problem solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong ability to multi-task and handle competing priorities at once.
  • Retail experience with Home Depot, Lowes, etc. preferred.
