The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for supervising company strategy related to local, value added services (VAS) and cartage freight warehouse operations in our North Branford, CT facility through an understanding of industry trends and best practices. Work with local and cartage operations staff and internal AIT functions to provide the best overall warehouse service.

Work schedule is Tuesday-Saturday


Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for a 10,000 square foot warehouse operation to include up to 10 permanent and temporary staff in the day-to-day activities of Local, Pick Pack and Ship, and Cartage Freight Warehouse.
  • Responding to emails, daily reports, and tracking up to 15 independent contractor drivers for a major home delivery account.
  • Provide an effective warehousing system that delivers a high level of customer service to support the account.
  • Partner with Terminal / Station Manager to implement cost effective solutions.
  • Supervise and oversee daily local service and operations activities as it relates to freight movement and dispatch pickup/delivery.
  • Review and suggest changes to as needed to ensure the warehouse department is able to meet company goals.
  • Organize and write procedures in a logical/methodical manner as needed
  • Achieve warehouse expense goals by working with various AIT internal groups to develop, implement and monitor warehousing logistic metrics.
  • Maintain warehouse safety protocols, and take part in monthly safety meetings.
  • Ensure a safe working environment through consistent practice of safety programs and procedures.


Qualifications:

  • High School diploma and/or GED required
  • Must be familiar with Warehouse (Pick, Pack and Ship), domestic and cartage freight forwarding warehousing services
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Must possess clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Must possess strong organizational and time management skills
