Full-Time: Exempt Position Summary: The San Francisco Giants are seeking a Minor League Medical Coordinator to join the Baseball Operations department. This position will oversee all Minor League Athletic Training Departments in the Organization. Position Responsibilities: Coordinate the minor league athletic training staff, including the Dominican Republic, regarding injury management and rehabilitation/treatment interventions based on current research and standards of care. Oversee athletic training services and sports medicine care for all minor league players and staff during the season, spring training, and off-season. Understand and implement a holistic approach to injury prevention and injury rehabilitation as outlined by the medical staff leadership group. Coordination of medical appointments and/or travel logistics pertaining to medical related issues (diagnostics, surgical procedures, physician exams, physical therapy, etc). Collaboration with Human Resources, Medical Administrator and Director of Player Administration regarding health insurance and worker’s compensation billing. Coordination of ATC and team physician medical coverage at affiliates. Communicate with front office/coaching staff as it pertains to medical decision making and current health status of SF Giants on-field personnel. Communicate and collaborate with Strength and Conditioning/PT/Nutrition/Education/Sports Science staff to implement preventative and rehabilitative protocols. Communicate between SF Giants team physicians/outside specialists and SF Giants front office. Communication and coordination of medical decisions/procedures with Major League medical staff. Oversee and ensure accurate and timely documentation in the EMR of all information regarding the health of SF Giants on-field personnel as outlined in the basic minimum standards established by MLB. Coordination of Spring Training physicals and entrance physicals of amateur draft signees. Oversee budget, inventory and supply ordering for all minor league affiliate athletic training facilities. Coordinate the hiring process of ATC’s for open positions in the organization. Perform medical history reviews and physical exams of all prospective free agent signs and provide a risk assessment through a collaborative effort within the sports medicine department. Establish and maintain an environment supportive of ALL medical staff members. Embody professional values in line with organizational standards. Participate in off-season camps and medical staff development opportunities as needed or assigned by San Francisco Giants Medical Staff. Perform on-site visits to all minor league affiliates, including the Dominican Republic, to assist in-season ATC’s and ensure proper implementation of SF Giants sports medicine department strategies. Must have a strong work ethic and willingness to work long, flexible hours, including weekends or holidays. Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in sports medicine field required, Master’s degree preferred Current NATA BOC Certification and CPR/AED Certification required Minimum 5 years’ experience in professional baseball Position based in Arizona 12 months out of the year Eligible for licensure in the state of Arizona At the Giants, we believe we put our best work forward when our employees bring together ideas that are diverse in thought.
