Job Description
Wealth, Corporate, Commercial and Institutional Banking (WCIB) focuses on helping clients work towards their financial goals whenever and wherever they want. Wealth offers comprehensive wealth management services to individuals and families across a wide range of wealth levels. WCIB also provides lending, equipment finance and small-ticket leasing, depository services, capital markets services, international trade services and other financial services to middle market, large corporate, commercial real estate, financial institution, institutional, non-profit and public sector clients. The Wealth, Corporate, Commercial and Institutional Banking Risk Management team is led by the WCIB Chief Risk Officer and works with the business to help identify, control and monitor the risks inherent to its business activities. This role leads a team of data experts in support of the development and delivery of data analysis to address business and regulatory needs. The team provides meaningful insights through analyzing, aligning, organizing, and streamlining various amounts of complex data from multiple sources. They translate information into results which can be used to solve business risk problems. The team also works with business and technology teams to create business solutions and automation which enhance efficiency, control, and effectiveness. The successful candidate for this role will have familiarity with wealth, commercial and institutional banking functions and products, as well as familiarity with U.S. Bank enterprise risk programs. They will have proficiency with programming, technology, and data management techniques and tools. They will also need to adapt to dynamically changing situations and have a proven track record of success in navigating complex risk challenges. Demonstrated experience in influencing senior executive leaders is essential. Other process and operational projects will be assigned as identified. This role manages a team of 7 but will also have ownership for individual assessments and engagements, based on the evolving needs of the WCIB Risk Team. The successful candidate will also effectively coordinate with internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to other members of WCIB Risk and WCIB business units, enterprise risk teams, internal audit, and regulatory agencies. Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's or advanced degree, or equivalent work experience Strong executive presence and demonstrated ability to influence senior executive leaders Twelve or more years of experience in an applicable risk management environment Demonstrated leadership ability and five or more years of managerial experience Preferred Skills/Experience
Technical expertise including experience with SAS Deep understanding of data governance, data quality measurement and the complexities of data in a large financial and/or highly regulated institution Expert knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends that impact WCIB Expert knowledge of WCIB operations, products, services, systems, and associated risks/controls Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills Applicable certifications (SAS certification, SQL, Azure, SharePoint or other Analytics and visualization tools) Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications If there’s anything we can do to accommodate a disability during any portion of the application or hiring process, please refer to our
