WHAT YOU WILL DO

Flexware's Automation Team does a variety of projects for manufacturing clients. Our expertise spans many industries including Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences, Food and Beverage, Discrete, Steel, Municipalities, and several others. As a DeltaV Engineer, you will assist clients in a variety of projects and work with many different technical tools. We are looking for future Flexdogs that want to serve our customers and enjoy solving technical challenges that will improve our clients manufacturing processes.

As a Systems Integrator, we are always looking for talented engineers that can assist our clients, so if you are interested in working with SOME or ALL of the following control layer systems, please apply! We are looking for several years of experience to Senior level automation engineers.

  • Program and install PLCs including but not limited to ControlLogix and Siemens processors.
  • Program and install HMI / SCADA / OEE solutions including but not limited to Rockwell, Wonderware, TrakSYS, Ignition, and others.
  • Program and install VFDs including but not limited to PowerFlex, Schneider, ABB, and others.
  • Work with networking components such as Ethernet/IP, ControlNet, or DeviceNet.
  • Work with data historians such as OSI PI or Rockwell FactoryTalk Historian.
  • Develop and configure interfaces with third-party software tools / utilities such as OPC servers.
  • Responsible for automation and controls system design, specifications, programming, simulation, testing, as well as start-up assistance.
  • Assist in developing a functional description of the automation solution such as the control scheme, alarms, HMI, reports, and others.
  • Calibrate, troubleshoot, test, repair, and improve sensing, measurements, and actuation devices.
  • Assist in defining the data structure layout and data flow model.
  • Provide detailed documentation to clients on systems designs and programming.
  • Perform other duties or work with other technologies as necessary.

WHAT YOU MIGHT HAVE DONE BEFORE

Flexdogs are a rare breed of engineers. They come from varied backgrounds but typically have some of the following traits:
  • Received a Technical Bachelor's degree such as Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Technology, Information Systems, or another similar technical degree.
  • Have experience with Controls / Automation Engineering.
  • Previous experience in a pharmaceutical environment is highly preferred.
  • Experience working with SQL databases
  • Designed, created, and programmed HMI screens in Rockwell FactoryTalk View, Ignition, or others.
  • Experience working with SCADA / OEE solutions such as Ignition, Wonderware, Rockwell, Ignition, TrakSYS, or others.
  • Experience working with Kepware or other OPC servers, as well as tag data.
  • Worked with networking components.
  • Experience working with operational data historians such as OSI PI, Rockwell FactoryTalk Historian, or others.
  • Working knowledge or experience programming PLCs using RSLogix500, RSLogix5000/Studio5000, Siemens Step7 or TIA Portal and other PLCs using Ladder Logic, Structured Text, Function Blocks or Sequential Function Charts (SFCs).
  • Worked with variable frequency drives (VFDs).
  • Integrated hardware such as barcode scanners, scales, printers, etc.
