Job Description

We are looking for an Entry-Level Clinic Technician to work alongside our eyecare team. If you’ve ever dreamed of working in the medical field but you weren’t sure where to start, we have an opportunity for you! As an Ophthalmic Technician at Mittleman Eye, you will receive intensive hands-on training that prepares you for a fulfilling career in ophthalmology.

In this role, you will learn the skills required to become an ophthalmic technician – one of the most sought-after types of medical professionals in the country! We will train you to perform complex diagnostic testing and exams, working side by side with our doctors to provide critical medical information that assists them in providing medical and surgical treatment for our patients.

Your training will provide a path for advanced, internationally recognized certification in an exciting and growing field! Even if you’ve never worked in the medical field before, we would like to hear from you!

 

Duties & Responsibilities:  Reports to the Assistant Clinical Manager

  • Assist with patient preparation and preliminary examinations.
  • Perform tests such as visual acuity, refraction, and tonometry.
  • Document patient history and test results in EMR.
  • Assist with the maintenance and calibration of testing equipment.
  • Ensure examination rooms are clean, stocked, and prepared for each patient.
  • Participating in the workstations cleaning process and ensure they look neat at the end of every day.
  • Provide patient education on procedures and post-visit care.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.
  • Support and process other work as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ophthalmic, Optometric, or Medical Assistant certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in the medical field.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to company systems, strategies, and processes.
  • Great knowledge of ophthalmology and medical terminology is a plus.
  • We are willing to train the right with little to no experience if you are a fast learner, and you can pay great attention to details.

  • If not certified, progress on getting certification must be within 12 months of hire (we provide fully funded training for your certification).

  • Experience in the Ophthalmic/Ophthalmology field preferred but not required as we are willing to train the right person to fit the role.
