Job Description Summary This role will be responsible for architect, mature and operationalize GE Aerospace Cloud based Data lake (Ingestion tools, Data lake, Data warehouse and reporting and Analytics) eco-system of services in DECA-EDAS(Enterprise Data and Analytics Services) organization Workload patterns include (but are not limited to): AWS infrastructure, modern Data Lake architecture. Critical to the success of this role will be a services mindset, be the technical anchor/influencer for the DECA EDAS organization using tools ITIL practices. Job Description Essential Responsibilities Be the key player to set the technology strategy and help with the roadmap for all data services - in alignment with ITIL practices and the service delivery framework Designs enterprise level references/artifacts to organizational technical vision. Influence internal architects during the discovery, design, upgrade and operational stages platforms. Build the partnerships and trust with EDAS customers Engage with industry and vendor partners and actively relates information back to functional domain and product teams. Execute in accordance with FLIGHT DECK fundamentals - including the ongoing documentation of standard work. Design and architect product with security in mind and deeper understanding of secure development life cycle. Demonstrate customer-centric behavior and consistently advocate on behalf of customers through informal service reviews and formal service-level customer advisory boards. Mentor technologists through coaching, knowledge sharing, technical skills and authoring documentation such as ADRs and Standard Work. (2-5 Architects) Represent and drive the Data technical community inside EDAS with. Education Requirements: Bachelors degree from accredited university or college with minimum of 10 years of professional experience OR Associates degree with minimum of 13 years of professional experience OR High School Diploma with minimum of 15 years of professional experience Minimum 7 years of professional experience in Data Engineering or Database and Cloud Architecture Note: Military experience is equivalent to professional experience Eligibility Requirement: Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Desired Characteristics: Technical Expertise: Experienced with cloud computing and enabling services in the cloud (AWS or Azure preferred) Experienced with modern enterprise data and analytic architectures. Experienced data management key concepts such as data quality, data protection, data governance, data lineage, and metadata management. Understands the platforms related to Ingestion tools (informatica, Talend and HVR etc), BI platform like Tableau and Tibco Spotfire and/or Analytics like Dataiku Understands the method of translating business needs into technical requirements Understands cloudand data security principles like access management, encryption, and least-privilege design practice Experienced with the concept of technical tradeoffs - including cost, availability, and performance Experienced with deploying solutions at scale and building reliable data services. Business Acumen: Adept at navigating the organizational matrix; understanding people's roles, can foresee obstacles, identify workarounds, leverage resources and rally teammates. Understand how internal and/or external business model works and facilitate active customer engagement Able to articulate the value of what is most important to the business/customer to achieve outcomes Able to produce functional area information in sufficient detail for cross-functional teams to utilize, using presentation and storytelling concepts. Possess extensive knowledge of full solution catalog within a business unit and proficiency in discussing each area at an advanced level. Leadership: Familiar with concepts of IT total cost of ownership. Works to assure work is on-time and within budget. Delivers tasks on-time with alignment to architectural goals.
