Senior Technical Support Engineer for Beckman Coulter, Inc. in Loveland, CO to act as a global expert on the Multisizer, Vi-CELL BLU, Z-series, LS 13320, and LS 13320 XR products. Work directly with field service engineers by answering hotline at least 90% of the time in the North America region and answering technical emails that come in from other regions like EU, China, Japan, South East Asia, Latin America and Australia. Take ownership of technical escalated sites for these products for the Americas and support regional technical support teams that have open escalations in other parts of the world. Own any product line escalations related to these products. Partner with post market surveillance team to identify new issues emerging on these products to help determine what needs to be prioritized and how to fix design related issues. Work with engineering on design updates to create documentation for the field on how to implement new fixes and how to ensure new designs include service related needs. Service and support core team leader for new products being developed for these products to ensure proper plan and documentation for servicing, training, and customer support is in place.
Requires: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus two (2) years of experience in technical support, field service or related occupation. Experience must include: Troubleshooting skills for determining root cause failure for fluidic, electronic, mechanical, and networking systems on complex products; Product launches, including particle counting, particle characterization, flow cytometry, hematology, or automation style equipment; Leading Technical escalations, including organizing assistance from district service managers, coordination group, parts warehouse, and the local field service engineer; Creating the action plan for what steps to take while on site to determine failure and bring resolution for the customer as quickly as possible; Inputting design and test methods for verifications of all service procedures; and Ability to mentor other junior engineers in the team with technical expertise on the supported instruments, internal business systems, and technical support procedures.
