CFD Research is seeking a skilled and innovative Embedded Firmware Engineer to join our team, focusing on the security of electronics. In this role, you will apply your expertise in embedded systems to address modern challenges, ensuring the resilience and reliability of advanced microelectronics.
We are looking for a candidate with a creative and problem-solving mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work autonomously in a dynamic environment. As an integral part of our team, you will play a key role in developing and advancing technology to mitigate threats to existing microelectronic systems.
Basic Qualifications: •Expertise in embedded systems, microcontrollers, and sensors. •Experience researching, designing, developing, and testing both electronic hardware devices and embedded software. •Ability to create and implement algorithms that enable hardware functionality. •Knowledge of security principles in embedded devices or embedded hardware design. •Proficiency in performing tests to validate product architecture and design. •Strong understanding of electrical schematics and interface specifications
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Prefered Qualifications: •Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. •In-depth knowledge of coding for microcontrollers or embedded processors, ensuring seamless integration with firmware. •Hands-on experience with hardware-level debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and protocol analyzers. •Strong proficiency in C and assembly languages for embedded system development. •Proficiency in developing software targeted for embedded hardware systems. •Understanding of best practices for secure and efficient firmware design. •Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment. •Comfortable navigating ambiguity and evolving requirements to deliver effective solutions. •Capable of conducting complex, impactful work with minimal supervision. •Strong technical documentation skills, including test plans, interface control documents (ICDs), and test reports. •Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a project team environment. •Excellent verbal and written communication skills. •Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook)
