Position Summary:
As a member of the Division of Student Life Human Resources Team, the HR Generalist will function as a business partner responsible for executing a wide range of HR responsibilities from a collaborative, customer-service oriented perspective. This position will advise and assist their customer areas on HR policies and practices, including but not limited to employee and labor relations, compensation, workforce planning, payroll, timekeeping, leaves of absence, benefits, and workers compensation.
Specific Job Duties and Tasks: Partner with leadership to understand and guide departmental strategies. Assist in identifying and analyzing key performance indicators to help develop strategic plans. Assist in formulation and implementation of division HR procedures and best practices. Coordinate and/or participate in planning, development and training on HR and departmental systems, procedures and practices. Advise, consult and counsel staff and supervisors on all areas of human resources. Recommend or initiate programs or actions to resolve problems and enhance services. Manage FMLA and ADA requirements. Work with Faculty and Staff Disability Services in documenting as required by policy. Oversee medical leaves to ensure they are in compliance with University, federal and state regulations. Participate in evaluating positions for posting, career development requests, and market adjustments. Participate in formulation and implementation of division HR procedures. Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to the position; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience. Experience (typically 3 years or more) performing Human Resources responsibilities, including conducting confidential investigations, in an HR role or HR environment. Experience creating and maintaining a welcoming and respectful environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Demonstrates superior interpersonal skills, including the ability to build strong professional relationships with a wide variety of constituents, while effectively managing conflicts. Working knowledge of current federal and state regulations impacting HR. Desired Qualifications:
Experience (typically 6 months or more) working with employee and/or labor relations. Experience performing HR responsibilities within a large and/or complex organization. Application Details:
