General Summary:

Under the supervision of the Accounting Manager, is involved and cross-trained in a wide range of duties related to general ledger, accounts receivable, reconciliation of bank accounts, purchasing, and wire transfer processing.


Essential Functions:

Application Balancing to General Ledger

  • Balance all applications (DDA, Savings, CDs, and loans)
  • Make appropriate general ledger entries, including resolution of FMS Non-Post
  • Report and submit backup withholding
  • Report all balancing exceptions to Accounting Manager

Reconciliation of Due From/Bank Owned Accounts

  • Expense Checks
  • Cashier’s Checks
  • Loan Checks
  • Escrow Checks
  • AVID Pay Account

Responsible for daily reconciliation of the ATM/Debit Cards

Responsible for the entry, settlement, and general ledger posting for investment purchases, maturity, and interest payments.

Overall responsibility for the compilation of cash management data, and updating Funding Snapshot.

Responsible for the AVID Pay function including input of invoices, verification of invoices, invoice approval process, coding of invoices, the processing of payables, keeping the payable information to date and maintaining permanent information.

Responsible for Loan Suspense daily reconciliation

Purchasing of printed supplies and general office supplies.

Responsible for the NewFirst Investment portfolio, including new purchases and posting of paydowns.

Follow through on established Training Curriculum

Cross trained in all duties of the division

Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Minimum Level of Education

Bachelor’s degree or one year related experience in the bookkeeping function to become familiar with bank products, balancing, and departmental procedures.


Skills and Abilities Required

Broad knowledge of departmental operations, policies and procedures.

Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with personnel of other departments and banking centers.

The ability to operate a variety of automated and standard office equipment, such as a computer, calculator, and microfilm reader.

Good knowledge of computer generated reports and procedures as they affect the department’s operation.


Working Conditions

Required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms.

Requires corrected hearing in normal range of effective communication via telephone and alarms.

May be required to sit for long periods of time.

May occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. Considerable effort and eyestrain from continued checking on the accuracy of all work.
