Title: Data Analyst

Contract: 12 months, potential for extension

Location: Carlsbad, CA- working onsite 4 days per week

Pay: $55-60/hr

Must-haves:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in data analytics or finance are a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in data analytics, finance, or a related field.
  • Experience collaborating with IT teams on system enhancements and data integrations.
  • Experience working in excel
  • Some knowledge of python, can be educational
  • Experience with data warehouses and databases
  • Ability to write and revise SQL queries
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), power BI preferred

Plusses:

  • Experience working in a finance-focused data and analytics role.
  • Experience with IBM Cognos
  • Familiarity with enterprise data warehouse (EDW) systems and data marts.
  • Certification in data analytics, financial analysis, or related fields.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.).


Job Responsibilities:

Data Monitoring and Reconciliation, Data Integrity and Issue Resolution, Systems Enhancement Support, Communication and Coordination, Reporting and Documentation, Continuous Improvement.

  • Data Monitoring and Reconciliation:
  • Maintain and ensure the integrity of financial data in HFM, CMR, and the Data mart.
  • Monitor and manage data related to revenue, weekly bookings, backlog, standard costs, and GLA (General Ledger Accounting) in Data mart
  • Conduct regular tie-outs and reconciliations across financial systems to ensure data consistency.
  • Data Integrity and Issue Resolution:
  • Take lead in identifying and resolving data gaps and discrepancies across all financial systems.
  • Provide timely and accurate responses to questions and issues related to data integrity from business units.
  • Systems Enhancement Support:
  • Work closely with the projects team to facilitate smooth integration of new system enhancements and updates.
  • Ensure that system changes are effectively communicated and implemented without disrupting financial operations.
  • Communication and Coordination:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for SUD BU finance teams regarding financial data and data mart issues.
  • Proactively communicate with business unit finance teams to address concerns and provide updates.
  • Organize and lead weekly coordination calls with the divisional finance team to discuss ongoing issues, updates, and system changes.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
  • Prepare and present reports on financial data integrity and system performance - monthly or weekly dashboard
  • Document processes, system changes, and issue resolutions to maintain clear records and facilitate knowledge sharing.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and system optimizations.
  • Collaborate with SUD key stakeholders to implement best practices and enhance financial data management processes. (opportunities for automation after steady state)
