Job Title: User Experience (UX) Research Contractor

Job Overview: We are seeking aUser Experience (UX) Research Contractor to join our UX Research team. This position can be based in Boston, MA, Portsmouth, NH, Plano, TX, Seattle, WA ,
or remote. You will play a key role in conducting custom research across various digital platforms for *** and its client, Insurance. This role specifically focuses on improving the digital experiences of independent agents, including research on websites, mobile apps, agent portals, and more.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including UX Product Designers, UX Content Strategists, business stakeholders, and Information Technology (IT) teams to understand business goals, technical capabilities, and ensure the design solutions meet the needs of our agents.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead impactful research initiatives that will shape the user experience for our agents and enhance the digital tools they use. You will leverage your expertise in user research methods and Design Thinking to generate actionable insights that drive product development.
Key Responsibilities: Plan and conduct various user research activities, including usability testing, online surveys, customer interviews, and more, to translate findings into actionable insights. Actively contribute to the product development process, spanning discovery, customer needs identification, ideation, testing, and gathering continuous feedback. Facilitate Design Thinking workshops, focusing on problem definition, goal alignment, persona development, and journey mapping. Lead discussions on setting objectives, creating clear research roadmaps, and ensuring alignment with software product development teams. Contribute to the formulation of functional strategy and help define the future direction of product development. Select the most appropriate research methods based on the business problem or hypothesis, ensuring that the results are relevant and actionable (e.g., usability tests, surveys, interviews, contextual inquiries). Conduct expert reviews and heuristic evaluations to identify opportunities to improve usability and accessibility in alignment with industry standards. Communicate research findings clearly and concisely, focusing on insights that drive business decisions. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, incorporating feedback to continually improve research outcomes. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Information Design, or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant UX Research experience, or a Master's degree with 3 years of experience. Proficiency in qualitative research methods, including running usability studies, conducting customer research interviews, and performing heuristic evaluations. Familiarity with quantitative and qualitative research tools such as Qualtrics and UserZoom. Solid understanding of Design Thinking and Lean UX methodologies. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation and reporting. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings and project status reports to cross-functional leadership. Strong organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
