Position Summary

:

Ensures the accuracy of analysis and entries to complex ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. Prepares various reports to support department tasks.

Essential Job Functions

:

Ensures the integrity of accounting information by verifying and processing of general ledger entries for several complex accounting functions and coordinates corrections with various departments. Approves of authorized operational expenditures, ensuring accuracy in data and compliance with company accounting policies. Performs monthly reconciliation and research for selected complex balance sheet accounts. Coordinates month end processing and close for selected accounting functions, which may include investments, significant operating expenses, interest accruals, operating accruals and others as assigned Prepares periodic internal and regulatory financial reports required by management, examiners, and auditors. Works with Certified Public Accountants ("CPAs"), examiners, and compliance auditors to review financial Credit Union records. If there are any findings, coordinates with department leadership to rectify issues. Collaborates with staff to research and resolve accounting and operational issues. Proposes and executes resolution in conjunction with department leadership. Requirements

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience strongly preferred. Minimum of 1 year of banking industry experience required. Prior experience using spreadsheet software and general ledger software and related modules required. Prior experience with operating system-based applications, including office software products strongly preferred.

Skills/Knowledge/Certifications

Strong knowledge of accounting principles including account reconciliation, accruals, depreciation, credit union loan, deposit and investment accounting, cost centers, and allocations. Ability to analyze and interpret data. Ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities. Strong attention to detail. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills

Metro's Hybrid Work Policy

requires three in-person days

for all employees whose primary office location is 200 Revere Beach Parkway. All employees will be required to report to work at 200 RBP every Tuesday and Wednesday. With approval from their manager, employees may choose the third day that works best for their own individual needs and schedules.
