How will you impact our mission?
Every position at Idaho Youth Ranch contributes to the success of our mission. As an Ag Manager, you will be directly involved in nurturing the hope, healing, and resilience that is stated in our mission! You will be a force for positive change in a young person's life, and that of their family through the power of horses. You will create a safe, comfortable space for our clients and horses to engage in a therapeutic environment.
Must haves:
Bachelor's degree in Human Services or Equine Science or equivalent experience. 4-6 years of experience in horse care and handling. Be at least 21 years of age. At least 100 hours of continuing education in the equine profession, and at least 40 hours in the last 2 years Current EAGALA Certification Obtain when offered specialized training related to position, such as: CPR, First Aid and Crisis Intervention Preferred:
Experience with horsemanship, livestock and 4H Our Ag Manager:
Responsible for and ensures the care and upkeep of the animals and animal facilities Participates in the EAGALA equine therapy and equine related activities for clients and guests. Supervises work of Equine Specialists, horse care teams and volunteers; hires, trains and evaluates staff. Develops, manages and monitors budget Develops and manages relationships and agreements with various community stakeholders, partners and supporters. As a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit, the Idaho Youth Ranch is a qualifying employer for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PLSF) program. The PLSF offers student loan forgiveness on qualifying loans under specific conditions. Speak with your loan provider for more information.
