We are currently seeking an experienced Tax Managing Director (Partner) who will have the opportunity to co-lead our fast-growing High Net Worth/Private Client Service Practice for the New England business unit.
Essential Functions and Primary Duties
- Lead engagement team and directly interact with clients and family office personnel to ensure communication and coordination of timely service.
- Successfully develop, nurture and manage client relationships by consistently providing clients timely and appropriate communication and services in relation to their needs.
- Be viewed as trusted personal and business advisor by clients.
- Direct multiple engagements which include consulting, compliance, and tax planning services.
- Consult with client service team to design, communicate and implement innovative planning ideas for clients.
- Guide and manage IRS and state audits.
- Participate and actively contribute to new business development activities, including prospecting, networking and representing CBIZ at industry and related events.
- Design and deliver technical training on individual related tax topics.
- Recruit, supervise, train, develop and motivate less experienced team members.
- Promote a team environment; demonstrate support of management decisions and build a positive culture.
- Contribute to management of internal tax department through committee membership and group leader responsibilities.
- Perform other responsibilities as necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Taxation or Accounting strongly preferred.
- Comprehensive tax planning and consulting experience and demonstrated expertise in taxation and knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations.
- Demonstrated success providing consultative service to high net worth individuals and families.
- Market leading technical expertise in individual taxation with a strong working knowledge of trust, estate and gift taxation.
- An ability to effectively present information and appropriately respond to questions from clients and team members.
- A track record of successful new business development experience.
- Excellent analytical, supervisory, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills necessary.
- Experience and continued interest in developing and mentoring junior team members.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook and Excel.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in Accounting, Taxation or related field.
- 10 years experience in public accounting or related field.
- 10 years supervisory experience.
- Must have CPA or equivalent certification.
- Ability to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments and prioritize each assignment as necessary.
- Proficient use of applicable technology.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally.
- Proven high level of business integrity, client service and leadership skills.
- Must be able to travel based on client and business needs.
The annual salary target for this job in this market is $200,000-$600,000. The specific compensation for this role will be determined based on the education, experience, and skill set of the individual selected for this position.
