Job Title: Intermodal Sales Director

The Intermodal Sales Director is primarily responsible for selling intermodal transportation services and achieving sales targets with new prospects. They are expected to identify new business opportunities, negotiate new customer contracts, and develop/maintain relationships with customers. The job requires a high level of customer service with strong communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a larger team to achieve exceptional results.

Responsibilities

  • Own and achieve/exceed annual sales targets within assigned territory.
  • Develop and execute strategic plan to achieve sales targets and expand Company’s customer base.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
  • Partner with customers to understand their business needs and objectives.
  • Effectively communicate the value proposition through proposals and presentations.
  • Identify potential customers in the target market and complete appropriate research on the prospects' business needs.
  • Regularly cold call for new prospects.
  • Develop relationships with prospective shippers, while maintaining existing customer relationships.
  • Negotiate prices, terms of sales, and/or service agreements.
  • Be the primary point of contact for customers with regards to overall account management.
  • Periodically prepare and report results, status of accounts, and leads to manager.
  • Complete the expected number of customer appointments, follow-ups and leads weekly.
  • Meet sales targets consistently.
  • Become a subject matter expert on our business services, processes, and operations, and remain up to date on industry news.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • “Hunter” mentality with strong work ethic.
  • Proven sales executive experience, achieving or exceeding targets.
  • Previous experience as a sales executive, sales manager or sales and marketing director.
  • Established industry network.
  • Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level.
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close.
  • Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of Company’s service offerings.
  • Proven ability to position products against competitors.
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent.

Job Type: Full-time/work from home.

This position offers a competitive base salary.
