IP RECRUITER GROUP is recruiting for the following opportunity:
Our client, an expanding law firm, is looking for a patent attorney (associate, partner track) with a solid technical background in computer science and engineering. Primarily, this opportunity will relate to initial patent drafting and patent prosecution for an impressive array of high-tech clients, both domestic and foreign. Depending on your experience and the ongoing needs of the practice, there will also be opportunities to provide a variety of opinion and client counseling services (e.g., infringement and freedom to operate opinions, portfolio strategy, trademarks, IP licensing, litigation support, PTAB issues, etc.).
Within this very collaborative environment, you will significantly engage with clients at all levels; thus, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are important. Here, there is substantial incentive and support to grow not just as a practitioner but as a well-rounded IP attorney and potential practice leader.
As a patent attorney within this practice, you will likely deal with a broad spectrum of complex software and computer engineering applications (cryptography, blockchain, artificial intelligence (AI), enterprise and mobile applications, databases, web and cloud services, operating systems, software user interfaces, open source, 3D graphics, grid computing, networking, telecommunications, network protocols, IEEE standards, network security, etc.).
Patent Attorney Requirements:
- Minimum BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or possibly Physics. Prior engineering experience is a plus.
- State bar and USPTO bar.
- Must have at least 1 year of full-time claim drafting and patent prosecution experience with a reputable law firm.
- Strong academic credentials.
Of Counsel or Partner:
* If you have a portable book that makes you partially or fully self-sustaining, this could be an outstanding platform within which to integrate your existing portfolio of clients.
Additional Notes for Candidates:
All fees are paid by client firms and companies. As a consequence of our reputation for having integrity and providing results, we often work on exclusive assignments that are not advertised.
Another important distinction is that we work directly with the decision-makers (i.e., partners, managing counsels, etc.) that make the determinations regarding who will be interviewed, who will be extended an offer, etc.
You have our express commitment that all information is accepted in confidence and that no resumes are submitted without first speaking to you and obtaining your explicit permission.
